The DN2400 specification pipe mold has an inner hole diameter exceeding 2.4 meters and an outer circle diameter of up to 3 meters. The dimensional tolerance requirement is controlled at 0.2mm, and the coaxiality between the inner hole and the outer circle is even more stringent at 0.1mm, which is only equivalent to the thickness of an A4 paper. If there is a slight mistake during the processing, it can cause the inner hole and the outer circle to be misaligned, affecting the normal use of the product.
In the face of challenges, the company plans ahead based on product characteristics, identifies production risk points in each process, and develops targeted technical guidance, quality control, production organization, and other security measures. In production, technicians start with tooling design, processing control, and innovative process routes to minimize deformation. At the same time, the innovative self-made heat treatment lifting ring guide device has shortened the time of quenching and hoisting operations, effectively reduced production costs, expanded the processing range of existing equipment, and achieved the independent production of pipe molds of this specification.
The successful trial production and delivery of the first batch of DN2400 pipe molds to customers has further expanded Zhongyuan Special Steel's ultra large pipe mold processing series, opened up the processing route for rough, fine processing and heat treatment of DN2400 specification pipe molds, and laid a solid foundation for the company to enter the large pipe mold market.
